Walkingshaw-Hugh Scholarship
Dear parents and carers,
Please find enclosed an application form for a Walkingshaw-Hugh scholarship. If your child is going to be continuing their education next year e.g. attending College, University or undertaking an Apprenticeship, then financial help may be available - this is a grant so does not have to be paid back.
Foundation Scotland has been administering this scholarship programme in partnership with Lochgelly High School for the last three years and in that time we have helped 13 students. Awards can range from £200 to £1,375 per year depending on the length of the course and living arrangements for the student.
The aim of the scholarship programme is to support those young people who face barriers to continuing their education, whether these are financial or other barriers.
The deadline for applications is Friday 5th February. Please contact Mr Argo at Lochgelly High School (steven.argo@fife.gov.uk) to let him know you are applying so he can arrange a supporting statement from the school. It is vital the school knows your child is applying so they can provide a reference. If your child requires help or has any questions concerning the completion of the application form please contact Mr Argo.
