S1 - S3 Expressive Arts Week 3rd June
Dear Parents/Carers of Current S1, S2 and S3 Learners,
I hope that you have had a lovely, long weekend and that you and your families are in good health.
In terms of learning for the week ahead, please see the Virtual Learning page for the Learning Overviews for week commencing 1st June 2020. We have been pleased to note that, over the last fortnight, we have seen a real increase in learner engagement since we adopted the Interdisciplinary Learning (IDL), project-style approach. Therefore, for the remainder of the term, we progress in the following ways:
Current S1/new S2: will continue to follow the IDL project-based approach. This week will focus on Creative Arts (Art, Music and Drama), with background activities from Design and Engineering Technology and Health and Wellbeing.
Current S2/new S3: will continue to follow the IDL project-based approach. This week will focus on Creative Arts (Art, Music and Drama), with background activities from Design and Engineering Technology and Health and Wellbeing.
Current S3/new S4 learners: will move into their new S4 classes on 8th June 2020. We will issue timetables to learners’ glow email addresses as soon as possible and learners will be added to new Teams, based on their course choice.
All: Although the current S3 learners will receive their timetables first, the current S1 and current S2 will receive their timetables before Summer. However, we would really appreciate your patience, as we are doing this remotely and, as you will know, technology can pose problems at times. Please be reassured that we have taken the aforementioned decisions based on feedback and also to support learners with existing positive relationships with staff, rather than bringing change for them during these already challenging times. Additionally, we are working with Fife Council and shaping our practice following regular updates from the Scottish Government, so please be aware that the new format of ‘blended learning’ may mean that there may be further changes to the timetables we publish, but we will keep you fully informed.
Please rest assured that we are here to support and we absolutely understand the pressures on some families at present.
