What Courses do we Offer?
Physical Education
Physical Education acts as a stimulus for personal achievement, and this makes it an ideal platform for developing confidence, resilience, responsibility and working co-operatively with others. The courses also promotes mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing.
Hospitality
The Hospitality Course provides an introduction to the different commercial and non-commercial sectors of the hospitality industry and the types of provision they offer. Candidates will also learn about the organisational aims of hospitality establishments and the products and services they provide.
Available at National 4 and 5, candidates will develop vocational skills and knowledge and gain practical experience in: menu planning; preparing, cooking and presenting a range of foods in a professional kitchen; serving food and drinks; undertaking reception duties and customer care; and planning, organising and running a small hospitality event.
Sport and Recreation
The Sports and Recreation Course covers the main practical activities involved in carrying out a support role in a sports and recreation environment, as well as health and safety legislation. Available at National 4 and 5, the course gives hands-on experience in an appropriate recreational setting.
Leadership through Sport
Young people undertaking a qualification in Leadership through Sport will learn and demonstrate important life skills such as effective communication and organisation whilst learning to lead basic physical activities to younger people, their peers, older generations and within the community.
The sessions use sport to educate young people on how to deliver fun and engaging physical activities with other students and within the community. Students will plan, lead and evaluate sports/physical activity sessions over a number of tutored hours and then demonstrate their leadership skills as part of their assessment.
